The Combatting Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) Fishing in Visayan Sea, Philippines through Empowered Fisher Alliances is a project in partnership with Ocean Community Empowerment and Nature (OCEAN). This project aims to reduce IUU fishing threat as a result of effective implementation of IUU fishing reduction plans as shown in the year 2 IUU Fishing Index and Threat Assessment Tool (I-FIT) score with men and women fisherfolk participation from 5 different municipalities, influencing fisherfolks and LGUs, with additional 11 municipalities with self-help groups providing safety nets for affected fisherfolks.
The project is implemented in partnership with:

  1. Center for Empowerment and Resource Development (CERD) – Assigned in Masbate Province
  2. Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement (PRRM)- Negros – Assigned in Negros Occidental province
  3. Sentro para sa Ikauunlad ng Katutubong Agham at Teknolohiya (SIKAT) – Assigned in Capiz
  4. Tambuyog Development Center (TDC) – Assigned in Northern Cebu province
